RE

Our new Christian values are love, hope, trust and joy.

What do these words mean to you. Have a bit of a brainstorm for each word and jot down ideas.

This prayer will be really important in our journey as a school,

Let love light the way and always guide you,

May hope always walk hand in hand beside you.

May trust bring you peace and a new found strength,

And let us look for the joy in all we’re sent.

How do you think these words will help us? What do you think they mean?

Speak to someone at home and talk how these words could be important to you.

In June, our year 6 pupils went to Winchester Cathedral for their Leavers' Service. The theme was 'Stewardship' with particular emphasis on looking after our native bees. Each school made an A1 canvas on a bee theme and this is ours:

Eagles' visit the Imperial War Museum

Year 6 Leavers. This year our year 6 pupils helped Mrs Jarvis to make a school banner to take to the Winchester Cathedral Leavers' Service

We wrote letters to the Bishop about the proposed allotment closures. Here is Samuel's.

Roman Catapults

We love cross-curricular learning! In DT we have been applying our science understanding of forces, levers and pulleys within our history topic to build and test catapults. After testing out the building of structures and researching how the Romans built and used catapults, we planned, created and tested our own catapult constructions.

See the photos from the different stages below:

Pre-planning & preparation - testing different structures with a variety of materials.

Construction complete - our finished catapults

Test time - aim and fire!!

We have been creative - here are our collages representing the Genesis account of creation.

The Dogs Trust Visit.

Jane Austen 200 competition. As part of the Jane Austen 200 anniversary celebrations we entered a writing competition - a letter to a friend telling them about a day in our life (real or imaginary) in no more than 400 words. Here are 2 examples:

We have uploaded photos of some of the exciting learning taking place in our class!
