Forest School In Summer Term

What a great first week of Forest School! We were so lucky to see lots of kites circling around the field after the grass had been cut.

We were also starting to use charcoal to draw pictures.

First Week In Summer 2

What a busy and active first week that we have had!

We had some time outside this week, some of us drew chalk and charcoal pictures on logs!

Our Maths wall this week - our focus was geometry. We have been looking a turns and how to describe where things are.

In English we have been looking at the book "Beyond The Pond" in this lesson we were using stepping stone pictures to retell the story!

Science - Pollution Experiment

Miss Lowry polluted our mini oceans with plastic and oil. Our challenge was to be ocean scientists and see if we could return the water to its original colour.

Do you think we managed it?

Lunchtime Excitement!

One of our Fox explorers rescued two slow worms on the playground today!

Getting Outside

This lovely weather has meant that we have been trying to utilise our outdoor area more often.

Here are some pictures of what we have been up to this week.

Some of us created a calming relaxation zone.

Others created a house with a special area for sea creatures!

DT - Cookery

This term we are focusing on Cookery in DT this term.

This week we created Vitamin "Sea" boats! They were a cool and refreshing treat in the hot weather.

Beach Trip - Lepe Beach 2022

Yesterday was filled with much excitement. For most of us, it was our very first school trip! Going on a coach, being with Otter Class and being in groups with different grown-ups was quite a lot for us to cope with, but we did it and had a brilliant time at the beach.

We spent some time looking for creatures, shells and seeing how many different types of seaweed we could find!

Here are some highlights of our trip.

First Week Back

We explained a beach to an alien, started to learn some tennis skills in PE and used block printing techniques to make shell artwork!

World Book Day 3.3.22

What an amazing book day we have had! It was great to hear about so many of your favourite books.

We also had a special book day treat! Hot chocolate, marshmallows, a fire and a story. Take a look at some of our pictures from the day.

What have we been up to the rest of this term?

It was our last session of Forest School this week. We experienced the much anticipated marshmallow and popcorn toasting! I think you can tell from our pictures that it was definitely a firm favourite activity. We also got the chance to use some "dragons breath" to create sparks to light a fire!

What another exciting week we have had! This week saw our first we of Forest School, which seemed to be a roaring success, and we had a Kings and Queens Banquet on Friday!

Welcome back everyone! What a brilliant start we have had to 2022. Check out some of what we have been getting up to below!

Autumn So Far

What a fantastic term we have experienced so far!

We've been getting settled into our school routines and have been doing some exciting learning along the way.

We've been looking at sorting and counting in maths and have been exploring a very colourful village in English!

Pictures coming soon!

Hello Fox Class! Welcome back - it is going tp be such an exciting year! We are so looking forward to sharing our learning with you on these pages over the months ahead, but for now, have a look at our Autumn 1 Newsletter which points out some of the brilliant learning that we are going to be up to over the weeks ahead!

Exploring Our Village

Exploring

As part of our Geography, Design and Technology, and Science lessons this term we have been exploring our surrounding area.

We are so lucky to have such beautiful surroundings right on the doorstep of our school!

On our walks we were thinking about; how the trees change in the seasons, what different materials our village is made from (we discovered a new material and looked at the "cob" walls) and what buildings are important in our village. (We decided that the shop is very important.)
