Love - Trust - Hope - Joy
Hello Otters! Welcome back for some really exciting learning, and our next big adventure! It is going to be such a great year! Have a look at our Otter Newsletter below to see what we are up to ! It's time for a brilliant new Learning Adventure!
Our Visit To Lepe Beach and Country Park!
We had a wonderful time with Fox Class exploring the rockpools and discovering sea creatures. Otter class loved learning about our coastline and used maps to mark where we were.
Spring Term
We are really looking forward to getting out and about even more this term and continuing our Learning Adventures! Otter Class loved learning about our local National Park, The new Forest, and found it using Google Earth. We have also completed lots of sorting activities in our Science lessons as we decided which things are living and non-living, and which environments suit particular animals. We read 'The Tin Forest' and then 'The Starbird' which inspired some excellent drama and conversations. Both books include beautiful, emotive illustrations that helped generate some spectacular writing and ideas from Otter Class. Here are a few phtographs that depict some highlights from this terms learning.
Otter Class have enjoyed exploring the features and properties of 2d and 3d shapes. They have sorted, constructed and counted to prove their understanding. Megastars!
Otter class thoroughly enjoyed their outdoor learning during our first half term. We all learnt so much! We now know how to whittle sticks with a potato peeler and use blackberries to paint with!
Autumn Term
Here are a few ways that we use concrete resources to further explore mathematical ideas and develop a deeper understanding of number. During the first half term we focussed on the parts of a 2-digit number, numbers that are greater or smaller than each other and some times tables! This half term we build on our knowledge and explore the four operations; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division .
