Love - Trust - Hope - Joy

Home Learning at King's Somborne C of E

We believe that a very careful balance needs to be achieved between combining learning in school with learning at home. We work in partnership with our parents to support our children, and we consider any home learning activities very carefully, as we know that children learn in a host of ways and through a broad variety of experiences. We believe in allowing our children the time and energy to engage in a host of extra curricular learning opportunities.

We want our children to be proud of their learning and to provide them with opportunities to share their progress with their parents and carers at home. However, we also know how much pressure families can be under, and want to ensure that we are considerate in our approach to best support our children in a joyful and flexible way.

As with our curriculum, reading is at the heart of all that we do, and this is also seen in our approach to Home Learning. Whilst different classes will have different tailored approaches for their cohorts, the consistency remains in our shared understanding of what we believe Home Learning should be - a chance to consolidate skills, and further build a love of reading.

If you have any class specific questions regarding Home Learning then please do speak to your class teacher.
