Love - Trust - Hope - Joy
As a school, we continually aim to grow and develop. Our Christian core is something that we are very proud of, and our vision around this is continually evolving to best meet the needs of both our children, staff and community. Here you will find some information around our Christian Vision; you will see how it has evolved over time, and you will find a link to our video outlining what exactly being a Church of England school means to us.
As of March 2024, our previous school Mission Statement (2020/21) is under review to better meet the vision of the school. Following consultation and support with and from the Diocese, and further consideration/discussion with our Governing Board, the first rejuvenation of our Christian Vision can be found below. Should you wish to contribute to this, or have any questions or queries then please do get in touch with us.
Part of the change from Mission to Vision is to further reflect what we aim to do and provide; our aspirations for our whole school community, as opposed to all that we currently do.
Our Mission (2020/21)
At King's Somborne C of E Primary School, our Mission is to provide an academic and emotional education of the highest quality for all of our children. Our school is underpinned by our Christian Values of Love, Trust, Hope and Joy, and looks to inspire our children in becoming positive, confident and empathetic members of an inclusive and diverse society. Each child and adult in our school is celebrated as an individual, and is seen as unique and important.
By setting aspirational targets, building resilience, and consistently implementing key strategies, the school will create and model a culture of life-long learning. Each and every member of our school community will be challenged and supported in achieving their potential, and becoming the absolute best version of themselves.
Our Vision (2023/24)
At King's Somborne C of E Primary School, our Christian Vision is to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, and provide an academic and emotional education of the highest quality for all of our children. Our school is underpinned by our Christian Values of Love, Trust, Hope and Joy, and uses the teachings of the Bible to inspire our children in becoming positive, confident and empathetic members of an inclusive and diverse society.
Each child and adult in our school is celebrated as an individual, and is seen as unique and important by embracing the commandment of Jesus, ‘I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you.’ By setting aspirational targets, nurturing our own personal excellence and encouraging resilience, the school will create and model a culture of life-long learning and betterment to support our children in becoming courageous advocates for positive change.
Our Christian Values
Following consultation with parents, children, staff and governors in the Autumn Term of 2020, we have set in place our 4 core Christian Values of Love, Hope, Trust and Joy.
These values help to inform and guide all of our actions and ere now embedded in our school life. We regularly visit and celebrate these values throughout the course of the school day, and celebrate a Christian Value Champion in each class every Friday, during our Celebration Worship.
These values now underpin our school prayer, and help to guide us in our daily endeavours.
Dear Lord,
Let Love light the way and always guide you,
May Hope always walk hand in hand beside you.
May Trust bring you peace and a new found strength,
And let us look for the Joy in all we’re sent.
Amen
