Remembrance Service
On Monday 11th November, Robins led the school in our service of Remembrance at the War Memorial. We were joined by lots of parents, carers and village members. We sang ‘This Remembrance Day’ before observing the two minutes silence. Some brave members of Robin class shared poems they had written inspired by remembrance. We listened attentively to a Reverend Jane as she shared prayers and blessings. Our clay poppies looked beautiful on the memorial and lots of adults commented on how fabulous they looked!
Earth Education Energy
On Tuesday 5th November, we had a visit from Tracey at Earth Energy Education. She came to talk to us about renewable energy and the importance of using renewable energy for our future. She talked to us about solar panels and how they make electricity from the sun’s light - she told us that they didn’t need heat, they worked with light and its brightness!
We made electrical circuits using Tracey’s components and explored whether natural or artificial light was the best for making our components work. Tracey brought in her ‘fake’ suns as it was a grey and gloomy day!
We then used a Voltmeter to measure the strength of the light in and around the school. Tracey spoke to us about Eveley Solar Farm and showed us where it was on Google Maps. Hopefully, we will be able to visit soon!
